This weekend was really great, my best friend visited me, i had a fun night out with my favorite people at school, and i was very productive.  There were a few moments this weekend though, when I thought I was going to lose it.  For a school with 10,000 students (give or take) people really find a way into other's business.  I had to remind myself of my age multiple times and take a step back from everything.  The best way to move past the bullshit is by looking forward to things to come!  I'm very blessed, and reminding myself of that puts things into perspective.  In the near future I am getting a house with my best friends at school, and I have a great PR internship this summer.  Here are some other things I'm excited for:

The best movies always come out in the summer.

Being down the shore is so uplifting and fun, I'm so excited for the first weekend there!

Getting home to spend time with my family that I miss sooo much!

and of course spending the summer with all of my amazing friends!

Influence

When thinking about who the most influential fashion icons are, obviously people like Audrey Hepburn, Twiggy, Grace Kelly, and Jackie Kennedy come to mind.  I however, would like to think that today people have a crazier, more eccentric outlook on style and what is beautiful; even "weirder", if you will.  These are some of my favorites:

Rachel Bilson

Lady Gaga, in one of her more subtle outfits

Marc Jacobs for Nars

Sarah Jessica Parker, as Carrie Bradshaw

Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen for The Row

RIP Cleopatra

As you probably have heard, Elizabeth Taylor died today at the age of 79, due to congestive heart failure.  To be honest, the closest I have ever come to admiring her work was when Charlotte from Sex and the City used Dame Elizabeth as an inspiration to get through a hard time in her own life.  That in itself is enough for me to show my respects for her and the ways she has transformed fashion and pop culture in her eight decades of life.

Urban Decay

I am so overwhelmed with midterms, papers, projects, and readings, UGH, but all I can think about is the weekend getting here!! This weekend one of my best friends, Nichole, is visiting me, so I really can't wait. As a self proclaimed girly-girl, (with an edge, of course) one of the best parts about going out is getting ready.  It's even better with new makeup and amazing shoes; indulgences (most) men unfortunately miss out on.

Nude lipstick from Mac.

I saw these gorgeous Sam Edelman pumps at Nordstrom last week.

Urban Decay eyeshadow I have used since high school.

Smashbox bronzer.

Music

I'm trying to focus on studying for my midterm, I really am.  But it's hard when such great music is playing, and all I want to do is share it with you!

Get by With a Little Help from my Friends: Joe Cocker
This song makes me miss The Wonder Years!

Inspiration

When things seem like they are spinning out of control it's important to take a step back and focus on the little things in life that bring you inspiration and happiness.

She is never afraid to take risks, and her music has a way of lifting your soul.

"I'm not afraid of walking down the street in something that people think is crazy.  What I can't stand is looking like everybody else," -Mary-Kate Olsen

The Beatles.  Need I say more?

Black Swan is my favorite movie right now; it is so beautiful and moving.

This past week the weather was gorgeous and an instant mood-lifter, reminding everyone that summer is around the corner, thank the lord.

Israel

emotional memorial for the fire that just took place in Carmel.

In January I spent two weeks in Israel.  It was my first time there and I went through Birthright.  This trip was life-changing to say the least.  I learned so much about the culture, history, and society; and gained such a huge appreciation for my religion and where I come from.  Israel is truly a beautiful country, within 3 hours you can drive through the desert, the beach, the city, and the countryside.  With so much love and passion for their country, the people who live there are inspiring.  I can not wait to go back!  Here are a few pics of my favorite parts of the trip!

riding a camel with Rachel through the desert.

Amazing Israeli soldiers we had the honor of spending half of our trip with.

A beautiful Kabbalah art gallery.

Welcome!

I always wanted to make a blog, and with my PR professors constantly telling me how bloggers are taking over the PR and fashion world, I decided it was time to start learning how to use it!  And what better way than making my own?  Looking forward to this journey ;).
